Richard N. Sherman, MD

Dr. Richard N. Sherman is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi and went on to earn his Doctorate of Medicine from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in dermatology at Tulane and Charity Hospital, serving as Chief Dermatology resident from 1991-1992. Soon afterward, Dr. Sherman became a board-certified Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and has been in practice ever since. In 2006, he opened his current uptown office, Skin Savior. Soon after, he founded his aesthetic skin care business, Skin Savior, Inc., for the treatment and education of patients interested in healthy skin care.

In 1993, Dr. Sherman took on the roles of Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Tulane and Director of the HIV Dermatology Clinic at the Louisiana Health Care Authority Medical Center of New Orleans. In 1995, he became the Department Head/Dermatology Division at Ochsner Hospital of Baton Rouge. As a New Orleans dermatologist, Dr. Sherman still remains an active Clinical Associate Professor at the Tulane Department of Dermatology and member of the Louisiana Dermatological Society. He also serves on a Speaker’s Bureau for Galderma, educating the public about rosacea and all cosmetic injectables, including Sculptra® Aesthetic, Dysport®, and the Restylane® family.

Dr. Sherman’s training at Tulane University School of Medicine/Dermatology Residency, current participation in resident education, and continued medical and surgical education provide a strong foundation for his surgical and cosmetic practice.  Skin Savior offers a wide range of general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology services for adults as well as children over the age of 13. Dr. Sherman’s expertise and publications in the use and treatment with cosmetic fillers and procedures, such as volume restoration for the aging face, have earned him a national reputation as a speaker and trainer on cosmetic injectables and face building.
